THE TRIBOCHEMISTY AWARD
gTHE TRIBOCHEMISTRY AWARDh has been established for a scientist who made an outstanding contribution to the science and technology in the fields of Tribochemistry by The Tribochemistry Technical Committee (Chair: Keiji Nakayama), The Japanese Society of Tribologists (JAST) in 2019. The recipient of the award will gain the worldfs highest honor in the field of tribochemistry. The award is presented by a citation with a medal.
The First Award Recipients of gThe Tribochemistry Award for 2019h have been selected and determined by The Selection Committee and then determined by The Award Committee, respectively, under The Tribochemistry Technical Committee (Chair: Dr. Keiji Nakayama), JAST. They are the following three recipients.
EDr. Stephen M. Hsu
Professor of George Washington University, U.S.A.
EDr. Jean-Michel Martin
Emeritus Professor of Ecole Centrale de Lyon, France
EDr. Hugh Alexander Spikes
Emeritus Professor of Imperial College, U.K.
The Tribochemistry Award is given to Dr. Hsu and Dr. Martin in the Award Ceremony to be held at 18:30 in the Evening on September13, 2019 at the Restaurant Legato at the summit of the Mt. Hakodate in the Conference of gTribochemistry Hakodate 2019h. Whereas for Dr. Spikes, The Tribochemistry award is presented separately in the Award Ceremony to be held at 15:30 on September 16 in the Meeting room 1 in the first floor of the Sendai International Center.
Award lectures are also given by Dr. Hsu and Dr. Martin at 10:55 and 11:25 in the morning on September 14, 2019, in the Hotel Takubokutei, in gTribochemistry Hakodate 2019h. Award lecture by Dr. Spikes is given at 15:50 on September 16 in the Meeting room 1 in the first floor of the Sendai International Center, just after the Award Ceremony for him to be held in the same room.
